Mike is an entrepreneurial lawyer with a heart for helping grow successful businesses. Mike has served as general counsel to several growth-stage companies, including a leading fintech startup and an international business development company developing real estate, orchards, and a fintech venture capital fund focused on Africa. 

Mike's law practice is focuses on providing strategic legal counsel and serving as fractional general counsel to growing companies. 

Before private practice, Mike was an appellate litigator and served as Assistant Solicitor General for the Texas Attorney General where he handled cases in the United States Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, and other federal and state courts. 

Mike started his legal career at Skadden Arps in Washington, D.C., and after law school clerked for Justice Nathan Hecht on the Texas Supreme Court.

Mike is married to Stacie and they have four adorable daughters - Ellie, Claire, Samantha, and Vivian - and one rambunctious dog named Watson. They’ve lived in Austin, Texas since 2005.
